Terminal Bore Beta
!!Public Beta!!
This page is an early preview build of my upcoming game Terminal Bore. There are still a lot of issues, but I believe that the core systems are worth sharing. There is very little progression at this time, so if you want to check out the game, please leave feedback directed at the look and feel of the mining mechanics.
You can only mine materials that are softer than your drill (a mechanic that I will explain with visual feedback in a later release). The store system was updated today (January 17th), but will get a much-needed refresh soon.
With those caveats, if you want to take a look and leave some feedback, please enjoy! Also, the web build appears to work, but it isn't detecting controllers, and it takes a very long time to generate the level at the beginning. I would advise downloading for the best experience.
Terminal Bore
Captain, your vessel has crash-landed on a barren planet! Life support is failing, your only choice is to dig deep and unearth the resources needed to refuel, repair, and re-launch! Send expeditions deep below the planet's surface, but beware of hazards and pitfalls. When your crew perishes, you will need to make the difficult decision to wake the passengers in a bid for survival. Every life pod's hiss is a death sentence for the poor soul within, but inaction will certainly doom us all.
This game combines classic mining mechanics with a linear story, meaningful choices, and a clear goal. Manage your time and resources carefully as you forge a path back to the stars.
Your sleeping passengers have 72 hours to live. Mine for fuel to extend the deadline, then explore deeper to find the resources you need to repair and expand.
Send an away mission to an ore vein deep beneath the surface, and harvest everything you need to survive. Return within the time limit, then begin planning the next mission.
Play it safe and use your resources to upgrade the miner, or pour all of your earnings into story progression. Be careful, playing it safe isn't always the best option.
Cave in! Losing a miner doesn't always spell disaster. Send a rescue mission to save a life, or to recover some of the valuable upgrades you just lost.
We're out of options! Decide who's life is worth saving, and who's life is worth sacrificing. Did we still succeed if we return home with an empty vessel?
